Best time to toilet train your child

The eternal question: when should we start potty training???

A new study set out to answer this question. They looked at 150 children and determined that those who were trained between ages 24 and 32 months had the most success.

Of course, every child is different. Some are ready earlier, some later. But this is probably a good general rule to follow.

You can read more about the study here.

Flu Supply Update

Here's what we have available as of January 21st.

Regular Insurance:
6 month to 35 month seasonal flu vaccine
Flumist (over 2 years old, and no history of asthma)
H1N1 for over 4 years old

So, if your child has asthma (and therefore can't have Flumist) and is over 35 months we don't have seasonal vaccine. We also don't have H1N1 for children under 4.

VFC or no insurance:
All ages seasonal flu vaccine
Flumist
H1N1 for over 4 years old

Again, we don't have H1N1 for children under 4 years old.

Thanks for your patience and understanding during this flu season. We are supposedly getting more H1N1 for younger populations...we'll let you know when we receive it.

Graco Stroller Recall

Graco Children's Products is recalling about 1.5 million strollers sold at Target and Wal-Mart and other major retailers following seven reports of fingertip injury or amputation in children. The stroller's canopy hinge can pinch fingers as the canopy was being opened or closed. Parents are advised to stop using the strollers and to contact Graco for a free repair kit.

Body Aches, Stomach Aches and Fevers, Oh My!

OK, so I got to be the patient this weekend instead of the doctor. I've had muscle aches all over my body, like restless legs gone crazy. I've also been very nauseated and had fevers off and on. My family will tell you I've been grumpy, too, because it hurts to move and it hurts not to move, all at the same time.
So, if your little one is extremely grumpy, give him or her a break. Maybe they need a nice, warm bath, or just a hug and a story. I know I do!
